Natural sex herbs that work for a man and woman safely and without the need for prescription medications
The pursuit of better sex with herbs and plants, roots and barks, has been an age-old quest and many scientists dismiss the benefits of these natural plants as folklore. There is a general suspicion in the modern Western mindset that natural compounds from plants that are promoted to enhance sexual passion or interest are barely, if at all, effective.
There are dozens, perhaps hundreds, of natural sex herbs that enhance drive and pleasure in both men and women, along with enhanced erections and more satisfying orgasms and climaxes—and some of them are quite powerful. They not only enhance libido, but they enhance most aspects of the human sexual response, particularly if they are used in combination. Many of these plant leaves, barks, roots, and extracts, when used in combination, are almost as good as Viagra or other impotence drugs in helping with erectile function and boosting sexual stamina and performance. Furthermore, sex herbs - many of them found in Passion Rx - can improve libido, sensation, power of orgasms and climaxes, which Viagra is not able to do. You now can have better sex with your wife, husband, or significant other - or yourself :)
Over many centuries and millennia, various tribes living in different parts of the planet have discovered, by trial and error, a number of plants, roots, barks, or animal parts that increase or enhance libido, sensation, and erectile function. It would be condescending of us Westerners to deny their experience and knowledge gathered over many centuries.

Dr. Sahelian and his research staff have tested various doses and extracts of dozens of herbs from a number or raw material suppliers to determine the ideal dosage and combination for optimal aphrodisiac properties with the fewest side effects. After years of trial and error, a highly effective proprietary blend with 15 herbal extracts, including Chinese sex herbs, from the best raw material suppliers has been created which induce better sex within two to four days.

Passion Rx helps restore:

In recent years science has made breakthroughs in the understanding of sexual dysfunction. But, for hundreds of years, civilizations around the world have known about locally grown sex herbs that achieve wonderful results with far fewer side effects than prescription drugs. The potent sex herbs in this natural formal include ashwagandha, avena sativa, catuaba, cnidium monnieri, cistanches, coleus forskohlii, Horny Goat Weed, maca, mucuna pruriens, muira puama, passion flower, rhodiola herb, shilajit, tribulus terrestris, and Tongkat Ali. There is a version of Passion Rx without yohimbe extract.

What about herbal sex boosters, are they effective?
There are quite a number of herbs and nutrients that I consider to have aphrodisiac qualities. Some of my favorites are included in Passion Rx.  As medical science has given us a greater understanding of human sexuality and our own chemical processes that put us in the mood, research has uncovered how some well-known and not so well-known sex herbs actually work with our body chemistry to lead to arousal and excitement. Various substances of animal and plant origin have now been identified, allowing for testing and scientific understanding of their chemical composition and mechanisms of action.

What are the best sex herbs?
There are quite a number that are effective, some are gentler such as ashwagandha and muira puama, others are potent such as tongkat ali. Each person will have their own list of best natural products based on trial and error to see which ones work for them.

Q. Can you tell me a couple of Chinese sex herbs that work?
   A. Two Chinese sex herbs that come to mind are cnidium and ginkgo.

Hypertension, high blood pressure medications
Q. Are there any male sex herbs that are safe enough to be taken for those with high blood pressure or taking blood pressure medicines like Lisinopril?
   A. One has to consider the whole person when making recommendations, not just the fact that they have one medical condition or taking one medication. Age, sex, diet, activity level, blood study results, EKG result, other supplements taken, other medications (otc and prescription), etc all play a role in the decision making process, particularly the dosages of herbs and medications. Having said all this, a general statement can be made that low dosages of sex herbs, for instance half a capsule of tribulus, tongkat ali, Passion Rx, muira puama, catuaba, mucuna pruriens, horny goat weed, etc., are generally safe when used every other day. The sexual enhancement would be slower when using these low dosages, but it would be a safer approach in those with hypertension or non serious medical conditions. It may take a week or two to notice the sexual benefits. Another option is Prostate Power Rx one capsule every other day which many people like. Please have approval by your doctor before taking sexual herbs particularly if you have cardiovascular issues. Many of these herbs speed heart rate and the side effects of these herbs are dose dependent.

Secrets of how to use sex herbs
There are quite a number that are effective in enhancing sexuality in men and women, but you have to learn how to use them effectively. Sex herbs work slower than drugs and that may be one reason why some people think they don't work. As Americans we like a pill that gives an immediate effect and if we don't notice an effect within an hour or two we think it is a dud. Most sexual herbs take a few days for optimal effects, but there are some or combinations that work quicker.
Although Viagra and its cousins Cialis and Levitra work very well for erectile function, they have little effect on libido and no benefit regarding genital sensation. These drugs don't work that well in women. sex herbs generally are not as quick in terms of inducing an erection, but with time they can be as effective as the drugs. Most people prefer the overall sexual enhancement that comes from the herbs in terms of the whole package -- sensation, libido, intensity of orgasms, climaxes, lubrication, and erection.  They also have the advantage of causing fewer side effects.

How to Take Passion Rx with Yohimbe, or Individual sex herbs, safely and efficiently
Take the herbs in the morning at least a half hour before breakfast so they are absorbed well without food in the stomach. Some of the common sexual herbs are horny goat weed, tongkat ali and LJ100, mucuna pruriens, tribulus terrestris, catuaba, muira puama, maca, ashwagandha, and others. It is impossible to predict which one of them or which combination will be effective for you unless you try it. If you buy more than one sex supplement, learn how each one works by itself before combining.

It is preferable to take these sex herbs every other day or 2 days on, 2 or more days off. You will likely notice the benefits even on the days you are not taking them since there is often a delayed response. Very important: These sex herbal products work better when you don't take them every day or take them for a few days and then be off for a few days.

Sex herbs have side effects, too, although less serious than the drugs. Common side effects from high doses include overstimulation, restlessness, insomnia, increased body temperature, headache, and rapid heart beat. If you get insomnia, skip a dose the next day. If you get insomnia it means the dose of the herb or the herbal product you took was too high, and next time you take it, try half or a third of the initial dose. If you feel increased body temperature, drink a glass or two of cold water.

Be patient. Most take anywhere from 2 to several days to start working, except for a high dose of yohimbe which can work within an hour or two. Keep in mind that if you try to induce sexual enhancement quickly, you are likely to get more side effects. If you wish to minimize adverse effects, take smaller amounts and be patient. The impotence Drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra can work within an hour or two but they can potentially induce serious side effects, including vision loss and chest pain.

If you are taking a product for the very first time, Start with a small amount, even if it means opening the capsule and taking a portion.

It is best not to take other supplements, especially those of a stimulant nature, on the days that you are taking sexual herbs since restlessness, insomnia and overstimulation can occur. Avoid using the same day ginseng, St. John's wort, or other similar herbs, Eyesight Rx, hormones, SAM-e, and certain amino acids such as tyrosine. I also suggest you avoid drinking more than a cup of regular coffee and more than an ounce or two of wine.

Use caution if you are taking prescription medicines since sometimes the interactions between sex herbs and medicines is not predicable. It is best not to use antidepressant drugs the same day as these herbs. SSRI drugs such as Prozac, Paxil, and Zoloft inhibit sexuality. 5-HTP, tryptophan and kava also inhibit sexual drive or decrease genital sensation.

Be extremely cautious using sex herbs if you have thyroid or other endocrine issues, a heart condition, a tendency for high blood pressure or heart rhythm abnormalities. Many of these sex herbs can stimulate heart contraction and if you are prone to heart problems you may have untoward reactions.

Although initially you may find that a high dose is required for you to notice something, with time a lesser dose becomes just as effective. Your dosage requirement may change with time.

If you find one particular sex product or herb is no longer effective, take a week off and then try another one. Sometimes the body develops a tolerance to the effects of one aphrodisiac plant.

What about spices?
There appears to be some research supporting certain spices as sex herbs. One study in rodents found nutmeg and clove to have mild aphrodisiac properties. Garlic may help dilate vessels and improve circulation and thus could also be of benefit. Ginger is also helpful but too much of it can cause shallow sleep. Long hours of deep sleep help provide a better sex life for men and women.

How to use natural Sexual Herbs effectively, minimizing side effects
I have been frustrated for quite a while formulating Passion Rx with yohimbe. I had heard that there were products on the market that gave results in one hour, and it bugged me that I could not formulate Passion Rx to be effective as quickly. I thought to myself, how are a few of the other products working so fast? Do the formulators know something I don't know? I was relieved to hear that the reason these products worked so quickly was because of the laced drugs, not because the formulators were so advanced in their herbal knowledge.

For those who wish to have a quick erectile response in an hour or two, the pharmaceutical drugs are an option. However, Viagra and its cousins do little to enhance libido, sensation, or overall sexual pleasure, and they really are not meant for women. These drugs may, in rare cases, have serious side effects such as blindness. Herbs don't work as quickly as the drugs (although Passion Rx with yohimbe sometimes works within hours)but once the effects begin, normally within two to four days, the overall sexual enhancement with herbs is more holistic. Yohimbe can work very quickly at a high dose, in less than an hour, but the side effects are unpleasant, hence the amount of yohimbe in the Passion Rx with yohimbe version is a rather small amount in order to minimize some of the side effects such as rapid heart beat, anxiety, and sweating.

If you are not in a rush, the sexual herbs and their combinations are preferable, providing increased arousal, sexual drive, pleasurable sensation of genital organs, better blood flow, and more stamina. Sex herbs are not totally free of side effects. The side effects are dose dependent. That is, the higher the dose, the more likely you will notice overstimulation, increased body temperature, rapid heart beat, alertness, irritability, and insomnia. If you have erectile dysfunction, have a medical evaluation to make sure you don't also have heart disease. Most sex herbs should not be used by those with heart disease and extreme care should be taken if you are currently taking antidepressants, stimulants, or other medicines.

I prefer using lower dosages of sex herbs (even if it involves taking a portion of a capsule) over several days with a day or two off in between rather than to take a high dose at one time. I remember a few years ago speaking with an elderly Chinese doctor familiar with herbal medicine. I asked him if he was aware of Chinese sex herbs that worked very quickly. He responded that Chinese medicine doctors prefer to enhance sexuality gradually over several days than shock the system with a high dose of an herb.

It is nearly impossible to develop a pill that provides a satisfactory sexual enhancement to every user. Viagra and its cousins improve erectile function at best in about 60 to 70 percent of users. It is impossible to predict which herbal product or individual sex herb (tongkat ali powder, tribulus, horny goat weed, maca, ashwagandha, catuaba, mucuna pruriens, or combination, etc) will work in any particular person. Sometimes it may take trial and error over several days or weeks until the right herb or combination is found. Taking breaks from the use of these herbs actually helps them work better than taking them every day. Sometimes you may not notice an effect the first day or two, but then surprisingly a few days later you may notice a significant sexual arousal, even if you have been off the herbs for a day or two. Many of these herbs have a delayed effect.

Plants that are interesting
J Diet Suppl. 2012. Mondia whitei, a medicinal plant from Africa with aphrodisiac and antidepressant properties: a review. This paper reviews the literature concerning the ethnobotany, phytochemistry, and pharmacology of Mondia whitei, which is also known as Mondia whytei, African ginger or simply as mondia. Mondia is used in many parts of Africa as a traditional remedy to improve appetite and libido, as a galactagogue, as a fertility medication, and as an antidepressant. In African countries, where it is used medicinally, the most commonly cited use is as an aphrodisiac. The scientific studies reviewed in this report employed either in vivo rodent models or isolated organ techniques, and therefore the results cannot be directly extrapolated to humans. Nevertheless, these studies provide scientific evidence that support the traditional uses of mondia as an aphrodisiac and an antidepressant. Based on the safety data available in the literature, mondia is reasonably expected to be safe when prepared and used according to traditional practices.

Emails
I am hoping to boost my low testosterone and have herd very good things about your herbs from a good website. I wondered if you have a distributor of your products in the UK? I intend to cycle herbs, do they work well when cycled? Such as Passion Rx, Tongkat, tribulus etc?
Advance Physician Formulas website sells and ships to UK, England, Scotland, Ireland, and all British Isles. Cycling is a good option with frequent breaks in order to minimize tolerance or to minimize side effects.

What do you think of the product Nasutra, an herbal formula that has been marketed quite heavily?
The FDA issued a warning on Nasutra.

I plan to purchase a sexual product called Vigorelle. Does it work? A website that promotes this product says it is the number one penis enlargement pick.
There are several so called sexual product review sites on the internet that make it appear that they are independent but are actually a front for the company that sells the top listed product. In the case of Vigorelle, we have not tested this product ourselves.

I came across an internet report on Fever Stimulation Beverage. I trust your opinion and hope you can say whether Fever Stimulation Beverage is safe to consume since it has sex herbs.
At this time we have not used Fever Stimulation Beverage. The sex herbs in this product appear to be horny goat weed, clavo huasca, suma, panax ginseng, catuaba, damiana, and maca. Fever Stimulation Beverage also has caffeine. Since we can't find the amounts of the ingredients in this product on their website, it is difficult to say how potent it is or whether is has side effects.

Would you rate the sex herb products potency formulated by Dr. Ray Sahelian versus other products on the market?
This is too broad a question to answer accurately. There are thousands of different sex herb products on the market and we don't keep track of them. I formulate the sexual herb products based on my research and experience. However, when it comes to sexual herbs, one has to be careful since they have side effects and too high a dose or taking a sex herb that is too potent can lead to heart problems, insomnia, high body temperature, and other undesirable effects.

I have experimented with yohimbe, tongat ali, ashwagandha, maca, damiana, tribulus, muira puama, horney goat weed, mucuna puriens. Eventually I developed an aching in my muscles. It would come in streaks, lasting for 8-16 hours, then go away. I stopped all of the herbs and it stopped, but my back muscles still felt tingly. I used a “body cleanse” called “The Perfect Cleanse” and I feel fine. Have you ever heard of this reaction to these sex herbs? My local doctors have NO experience in this matter. If you have heard of this, did I overdose? I used some sex herbs for 2 days, then I switched to others, so that I did not use anything for more than 2 days in a row. I kept alternating the dosages.
There is much yet to learn about the side effects of sex herbs. It is difficult to say which sex herb, or what combination, was responsible for your symptoms. We have not had reports of such muscle aches yet with the use of sex herbs but then again we don't know many people who have used so many of them. The best option is to take a month off from all these sex herbs and then when they are reintroduced to do so in a lower dosage and to take more time off and more frequent breaks.

Where can I best find out in which degrees to mix the following herbs and make my own capsules from the batch: Siberian Ginseng Extract Muira Puama Saw Palmetto Damania Guarana Seed Grape Seed Extract Cayenne Pepper Leuzea Carthamoides extract Rhodiola Rosea Schisandra Chinensis Cynomorium Tongkat Ali Butea Superb.
It takes years and years of herbal knowledge and experimentation to learn about each herb separately and together. What makes it even more complicated is that each herb comes from different sources which have different potencies, and each herb is also available in different extract percentages. The whole field is a lot more complicated than people realize.
