Hemangioma in infant

Neoplasma. 2015. Beta-blockers in the treatment of periocular infantile capillary hemangioma. Infantile capillary hemangioma (IH) is the most common congenital vascular tumor of childhood and infancy. Although the majority of these lesions regress spontaneously, many of children with IH particularly in the periocular or orbital region need treatment. Ocular indications for treatment include obstruction of the visual axis or high degrees of astigmatism causing amblyopia, exposure keratopathy secondary to proptosis or compressive optic neuropathy.
Am Orthopt J. 2013. Hemangiomas treated with propranolol: do the rewards outweigh the risks? Recent reports of propranolol for the treatment of hemangiomas have led many physicians to question the best treatment strategy for children with vision-threatening hemangiomas. Although propranolol has potential side effects, including hypoglycemia and hypotension, early studies suggest it is more efficacious than systemic cortico steroids with a lower incidence of adverse side effects.
Am Orthopt J. 2013. Infantile hemangioma: treatment with
surgery or steroids. Infantile hemangiomas (IH) often pose a significant risk to
visual development. The lesions interfere with visual development by causing
deprivation, astigmatism, or strabismus. Propranolol has been suggested as the
new standard of care for treatment of IH. Alternative treatments such as
intralesional steroids or surgery may need to be considered as equal or better
treatments in some cases. Early surgical intervention can successfully and
quickly result in excellent visual and anatomic outcomes. Propranolol may have
unrecognized neurocognitive impact and should be reserved for those lesions
unamenable to surgical or local steroid injection.
I have a 10-month old baby. He was born with a superficial and deep hemangioma on his right side of the face. When he was 2 months old he was treated with vincristine for approximately 1 month and prednisolone for aproximaly 6 months. he has suffered of low-weight problems apparently due to the prednisolone's side effects. Do you know of any application of curcumin to treat this kind of hemangiomas? do you think curcumin could be safely used in this case, under close medical watch?
We have not seen any research or had testimonials regarding the use of curcumin and hemangioma treatment.
